Our sustainability programme
We, the Hotel Alte Werft, have committed ourselves to being more
Sustainable and reduce our carbon footprint.
- Our hotel's electrical energy comes from renewable sources, among others
- We have installed water-reducing mixer taps in bathrooms
- We have set up strategic recycling points in our hotel, to improve waste management and reduce the number of disposable products
- We have eliminated non-essential plastic packaging from all our buffets
- We have introduced digital technologies to reduce the use of paper
- We have modernised our bicycle garage to promote sustainable mobility through e-bikes
- We have installed charging stations for electric vehicles in the hotel car parks
- Our light sources are 100% energy-saving bulbs
- Our menu includes several vegan & vegetarian dishes
- Many of the ingredients required for the dishes are home-made
- There are motion detectors in our rooms and energy-saving lamps in the outdoor areas
- We use seasonal & regional products in the preparation of dishes
- We order from local suppliers to keep supply chains as short as possible
We are also committed to:
- Develop sustainable projects in collaboration with ‘Kli-Art’
- Special benefits & appreciation of our employees
- Installation of a defibrillator in our hotel, Training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid
- Formation of a ‘green team’
